So I read all over that xwiimote is the proper way to use a wiimote on GNU/Linux. It "supercede cwiid, wiiuse and others by integrating the driver into existing linux infrastructure." But It seems entirely useless to me as a game controller driver. xwiimote gets me (or my customers) 7 buttons and the arrow keys (not gamepad dpad) in portrait only. cwiid gets me a fully functional game controller in all possible configurations, with nunchuck, classic controller, axises, dpads, balance board, tilt/accelerometers; even guitar, drums, and musical keyboard. I must be missing something or xwiimote is beautiful code that serves no real purpose except to be added to future games. As of right now, it is used in a small library of games I, like all of my customers, do not own or do not have installed. Additional I don't see any xwiimote games I want. I want to use wiimotes and accessories with the games I have.
Why should I be using xwiimote?
