How to IRC

*first open your IRC client

select your preferred network (i.e. freenode, OFTC etc) and connect.

you can register a nickname or can use irc with random nicknames selected automatically

to register your nickname to avoid nickname highjack,
run the following command in the chat interface
"/msg nickserv register your_password your_email"

you supposed to receive an email asking to confirm but sometimes you dont, suppose you do then confirm by following the instruction in the mail.

after that when you reconnect, you'll be asked to give the password to confirm your nickname, run

"/nickserv identify [nickname] password"

"/msg nickserv IDENTIFY/identify your_password"

for connecting securely type "/SERVER your_preferred_server_name 6697" like "/server freenode 6697"
asterisk msg  "/me msg"
and whois com "/whois nick"
and user specific msg  "/msg Nick message"

To add a nick in group

/nick theNewNick
/msg nickserv group main_nick password

to ungroup

/msg NickServ UNGROUP nick

To change password 

"/ns set password oldpassword newpassword newpassword"

If you have forgotten your password then you will need to reset it. To do this use:
"/ns resetpass nickname email@address"

Recover by

killing ghost

"/ns ghost nickname password"

by Recover
/msg nickserv RECOVER nickname [password]

by Release
/msg nickserv RELEASE nickname [password]

to see all channels connected

"/ns alist"

to change the password

"/nickserv set passwd oldpassword newpassword"
new method "/msg nickserv set password newpasswd"

to recover nick

"/nickserv sendpass [nick] [email address]"

to turn on memoserv if turned off

"/nickserv set nomemo off"

to set greetings msg

"/msg NickServ  SET GREET message"

to check nick status

"/msg NickServ  STATUS nickname"

To save the logs into disk using Hexchat
In the settings tab, select preferences, in the dialog box, go to logging option, just check mark every option, to see the logs, select "open data folder" or go to "/home/user(your_username)/.config/hexchat/logs, you'll find all the logs as log file, :)
