Hi everyone, unity doesn't load after I log in on 16.04. The issue began when I upgraded from 14.10 -> 15.04 -> 15.10 -> 16.04.

This solution along with many other attempts at solution eventually solved it https://itsfoss.com/fix-unity-freezes-after-login-ubuntu-14-04/ .
Recently I installed compiz and unity upgrades that were released earlier this month and the issue has come back.
/var/log/apt/history.log shows I installed 73 packages in that installation.
Would you manually revert all of these packages, is there an automatic way to do this, or another solution? Thanks!
