E2-3000M(1.8Ghz), 2GB RAM(4gb ram i added myself) so 6gb, 320GB 5400rpm HD, 14in 1366x768 LCD, AMD Radeon HD 6470M, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11bgn wireless, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Camera, 6c Li-Ion

I installed ubuntu 16.04 and set my hard disk a sencrypted.

(i previously had problems getting ubuntu installed since the splash screen would freeze and wouldnt be able to try nor install ubuntu but that problem is solved)

now my problem is getting my installed ubuntu to run , whenever i start it up (right after i enter my password on the purple screen) it freezes witht eh password bar and ubuntu symbol in the middle.

  to get my ubuntu installed i had previously uses nomodeset.
so i try nomodeset by replacing http://imgur.com/q9gqUYH quiet splash with nomodeset but then i get blank purple screen.

others have said my laptop is an older radeon card so i must get the drivers so i was thinking since i cant start ubuntu on nomodeset i might as well try to get the proper drivers through root shell command line(ive no idea about this)
