321 | Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:07]
hm.. is there a easy way to make a fat click from ubuntu sdk? like push a button or change a setting to make a fat balls click, arm+x86?
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:10]
Yes.
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:10]
But as for more details I need to check first where exactly to explain π
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:10]
yay! :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:10]
i need it for balls (SDL2/cpp)
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:14]
Go to the Publish tab, select Project with binary executables, tick architectures - this requires that you have kits in multiple architectures, from which you then select
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:18]
i don't see that in the Publish tab :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:18]
[ Photo ]
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:19]
i have 2 kits, desktop x86 and arm
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:20]
My bad, I should have said "....and click <Build and validate package>..."
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:20]
Which seems gray in your case
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:21]
What kits do you have in your project?
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:21]
[ Photo ]
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:22]
desktop/x86 and arm
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:23]
i can only build and validate the arm kit
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:23]
Desktop is not a full-blown kit in terms of building - it doesn't have all that's part of a device image.
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:24]
[ Photo ]
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:24]
oh, i see
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:24]
You need a dedicated i386 kit for the same framework, which is backed by a chroot, which "Desktop" isn't
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:26]
right :D thanks
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:44]
Any Quassel power users here? Like, several users in one core? Looking for some brains to pick, what to look out for etc.
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:45]
I'm going to push the initial branch of my Ubuntu port, in case you're wondering what makes this on-topic π
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:48]
[ Photo ]
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:48]
i think.. i'm trying to create an i386 chroot
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:48]
but it got stuck here
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:49]
for 10 min
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 08:49]
i dont think it's going to work
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 08:49]
chroot creation has been broken for ages
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:49]
π’
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:49]
thanks :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:50]
then cancel
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 08:50]
you may need to hop on irc and speak to zoltan or benjamin to find out the solution
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 08:50]
personally I build "fat" clicks manually, not using qtc
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:53]
@popescu_sorin Use static chroots, forget about creating them
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:54]
oh :D what is a static chroot? o_O
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:54]
how can i make one
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 08:54]
Install ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-i386 and -armhf respectively
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:57]
uuuu, cool :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 08:57]
let's see
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:03]
Chroot name: click-ubuntu-sdk-15.04-i386
Chroot path: /var/lib/schroot/chroots
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:03]
yay
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:12]
something with red
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:12]
E
: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

yay i386 charoot :D thanks @kalikiana
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 09:33]
App idea! -> Take the simply formatted changelogs which exist in various directories owned by sil2100 and ogra, and present them in a nice date and device sorted way.
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 09:33]
App might be called "What's New" or similar
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 09:33]
Be a nice way for people to find out what changes are coming before they update, or what changed since they last updated.
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 09:34]
could also link to Lukasz' announce mails on the announce list.
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 09:34]
I'd imagine it would have a user interface which shows "Today" "This week" and "Recently"
Andrea Bernabei, [02.06.16 09:35]
yeah...that would be nice indeed
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 09:38]
That should be a part of the updater, not an extra app... but an app would certainly be better than having to poke uappexplorer for the changelos
Chloe Wolfie π± πΊ, [02.06.16 09:44]
Question, how can I disable the touchscreen on the Nexus7?
Michael Zanetti, [02.06.16 09:45]
not :)
Michael Zanetti, [02.06.16 09:46]
[In reply to Chloe Wolfie π± πΊ]
why would you want that?
Chloe Wolfie π± πΊ, [02.06.16 09:47]
[In reply to Michael Zanetti]
Screens got a scratch in it so I thought Id just use it with a keyboard and mouse but it keeps doing random stuff assumedly because of the massive deep scratch.
Michael Zanetti, [02.06.16 09:48]
oh ok
Michael Zanetti, [02.06.16 09:48]
dunno... it is probably possible somewhere in the lower layers, but I don't know where and how...
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:51]
https://uappexplorer.com/app/krita.krita
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:51]
yay? krita snap
Chloe Wolfie π± πΊ, [02.06.16 09:52]
Krita :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:54]
oh wow i can bearly move my mouse when extracting installing stuff
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:56]
i really don't care how fast something installs :D but i care about always having a responsive UI
cm-t (rudy) ubuntu-fr, [02.06.16 09:56]
Ah, download button show only amd64, means not ready for the m10 ?

Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 09:59]
can you install snaps on m10?
cm-t (rudy) ubuntu-fr, [02.06.16 10:01]
Didnt tryed yet, but was told you can do that with openstore
cm-t (rudy) ubuntu-fr, [02.06.16 10:01]
To be verifyed
Dan Wood, [02.06.16 10:01]
[In reply to Alan Pope]
A scope would be more suitable?
Michael Zanetti, [02.06.16 10:02]
@majster oh dear... now we have it... because you worked around the bug in uTorch the priority has been decreased and we'll probably never get the fix on the Pro5 now :D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:12]
i get some red lines while updating the armhf static chroot (16.04)
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:12]

Andrea Bernabei, [02.06.16 10:15]
upgrading is the same as creating, if there are broken package dependencies, then you can't create a chroot, and for the same reason you can't upgrade to latest packages, because you'll hit the same dep problems
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:16]
[In reply to Popescu Sorin]
error: cannot install "krita": snap "krita" already installed
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:16]
That error message is somewhat unexpected for me.
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:16]
so :D i just installed this chroot sudo apt install ubuntu-sdk-api-15.04-armhf
and then added the kit in sdk for balls2
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:16]
and it auto updated
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:17]
[In reply to ππ»π²πΌ π―]
:D i don't know nothing about snaps
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:17]
[In reply to ππ»π²πΌ π―]
It's true that I have "krita" installed. Which I know, and would thus happily replace, and which dpkg would do - of course in fairness dpkg has virtually no sanity checks in terms of what's replacing what.
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 10:18]
[In reply to Popescu Sorin]
no
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:18]
as i thought :D
Andrea Bernabei, [02.06.16 10:18]
@popescu_sorin when did it autoupdate?, are you sure it really "auto" updated? :D
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:18]
So maybe it's a good thing? Kind of thinking out loud since it's one of those snappy things I need to decide makes more sense or is wrong.
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 10:18]
[In reply to ππ»π²πΌ π―]
snap list
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 10:18]
do you see krita?
Alan Pope, [02.06.16 10:19]
snap doesn't care what debs you already have
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:19]
Yes. I do have it. So it's "expected"
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:19]
I have a snap
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:19]
[In reply to Andrea Bernabei]
when i added the kit to balls, i got a window telling me there are updates
Andrea Bernabei, [02.06.16 10:19]
ah ok, so *you* updated it :D
Stuart Langridge, [02.06.16 10:20]
so snap install <something I already have> won't overwrite the existing thing? I think that's correct. However, it should probably say "maybe you want snap upgrade krita instead"?
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:20]
yes D
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:20]
[In reply to Andrea Bernabei]
yes, but with the non static chroot i update all the time and don't have any problems
ππ»π²πΌ π―, [02.06.16 10:20]
[In reply to Alan Pope]
I guess I expected it to update/ replace since it's from the same author/the same piece of software - but I don't know if a) it wasn't correctly "snapped" for that to work b) if the policy in general is to require removal by hand
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:21]
[In reply to Andrea Bernabei]
so what should i do with the static chroot? just don't update?
Andrea Bernabei, [02.06.16 10:21]
correct. Well, it would be better if there were no dependency breakages, but yeah, in the meanwhile, you have to skip updates
Popescu Sorin, [02.06.16 10:22]
is this documented? :D
