Im in the process of reinstalling my home server without GUI and thought i should learn to use LVM while in the process and i have some questions kinda just want to se if i understood this correctly.

1. I have two disks i guess i should mount root on a separate partition to avoid the system failing if my second disk dies, but should i just leave that partition EXT4 or should i have a separate volume group for that?

2. The computer is a bit short on RAM so a swap partition is needed, how should i handle that? same volume group as root? or no volume group?
