On Reboot

1. Selected Ubuntu* from grub menu
2. gnome splash screen displayed for 1 second
3. presented with monotype, "A start job is running for hold until boot process finishes up (time/no limit)
4.waited 4 minutes before pressing, "ctrl+alt+del"
5.Sent back to grub and selected additional boot options for ubuntu.
6. Used ubuntu recovery mode.
7. tty1 flashes up and dissapears once every 5 seconds.
8. Tried to get to desktop with "ctrl+alt+f7" just black screen then goes back to tty1
9. was able to access tty2 and log in as user, had to keep switching back from tty1 every 5 seconds.
10.On tty2 I used the command "sudo apt-get purge nvidia-361"
11. this was what finally showed the log in screen and allowed me to log in.
