[22:35] <katastrof> How to know which card graphic my system is using?
[22:36] <holstein> http://askubuntu.com/questions/23238/how-can-i-find-what-video-driver-is-in-use-on-my-system

[22:40] <katastrof> holstein: Thanks I don't understand I mean is driver = card graphic the same? I use nouveau (without bumblebee) and I have two graphical cards.
[22:41] <katastrof> When I mean the same, I mean in the result of the command
[22:41] <holstein> katastrof: if you are using the nouveau driver, thats the nvidia open driver..
[22:42] <katastrof> holstein: http://paste.ubuntu.com/10531529/
[22:42] <holstein> katastrof: right..
[22:42] <holstein> katastrof: you'll have to install something to manage the display you want to use
[22:43] <katastrof> That means it's my nvidia card that's always running ?
[22:43] <holstein> katastrof: what do i do? disable the nvidia side, since i want the battery life..
[22:43] <holstein> katastrof: if you havent done anything to keep the nvidia card from running, then, yes.. AFAIK, the nvidia "side" is still running
[22:43] <holstein> katastrof: on my dual GPU like that, i use a kernel mod from a PPA that disabled the nvidia side
[22:44] <katastrof> but intel is running too ?
[22:44] <katastrof> they are both running but nvidia is the real one used, or ?
[22:44] <holstein> katastrof: AFAIK, correct.. but, just pulling power.. not displaying things
[22:45] <holstein> katastrof: is this relevant? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/HybridGraphics i would expect to install something to manage the device.. if thats possible in linux

[22:47] <katastrof> holstein: the thing is I used bumblebee but with nouveau it's causes problems and nividia prime is also a problem for me because it freezes my computer some time
[22:47] <holstein> katastrof: yup.. caused problems for me to.. AFAIK, nvidia didnt specifically address it for me, so, i just disabled the nvidia "side"
[22:47] <klopsi-u3> i just switched to the nvidia driver
[22:48] <klopsi-u3> never need battery
[22:48] <holstein> katastrof: i would expect a lot of trial and error, and trying the various drivers.. and i would personally want the latest 15.04, even though, its not out yet
[22:49] <katastrof> if i install nvidia prime but I activate only the intel card, the problem will not go because it's the same driver ?
[22:49] <holstein> katastrof: those are the quesitons i would be answering, with experiementation..
[22:50] <holstein> katastrof: i dont have that hardware.. but, you can always look for someone with it, in #ubuntu for example..
[22:50] <katastrof> did you have problems with flash too ?
[22:51] <katastrof> with the prop drivers I had to F5 to reload like youtube videos because I had the sound but not the frame

[22:52] <holstein> katastrof: i dont personally let chrome dictate my GPU drivers in linux.. its just such a potential mess..
